QUICK START GUIDES are very popular today. They help a person to get started as quickly as possible with a variety of new technology products, including computers, cell phones, digital cameras and the like. These same type GUIDES are also valuable in helping you select a new sport or hobby activity. If you see something that you might like to try yourself, a GUIDE can help explain what it takes to get involved in a minimum amount of time. From that information you can decide whether that sport or hobby is for you.

This particular QUICK START GUIDE, provided by the national organization, Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), is intended as a means of introduction to our hobby of flying radio controlled (R/C) model aircraft. It starts at square one and proceeds all the way to your first flight experience and then to your first solo flight. It is not an all-encompassing program for beginners through experts. More advanced information is available later as you desire.
